I have just finished reading “A Dance With Dragons”, book five of George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series.
I won’t say too much because I wouldn’t want to give away any spoilers, but one of my favourite characters died (well, appeared to die. I’ve learned that death is not always final in these books). George continues to prove that no one is safe, not even much loved central characters. He’s ruthless, and that’s one reason I love these books.
I can’t believe I’ve finished - a quick search has told me the 6th book is nowhere near completion, apparently the author is taking a break from writing until the end of this year.
I suppose it’s time to get my head out of fantasy world clouds and read something a little less consuming!
